1,327 road accident cases were recorded in the country in 2025. According to the Royal Brunei Police Force, RBPF, the figure showed a significant increase compared to 2024 with 1,163 cases, and 1,118 cases in 2023.

 

Self-accident remains the highest each year, with 572 cases recorded in 2023, 584 in 2024, and 658 cases in 2025.

 

Fatal accidents recorded a significant increase from 12 cases 2023 and 2024, to 28 cases in 2025. The total number of fatality to climbed to 28 last year.

 

Negligence was the main factor of accident, including driving beyond the speed limit, using mobile phones while driving, drowsiness, fatigue, and lack of attention on the road.

 

To ensure road safety, the Investigation and Traffic Control Department and police stations nationwide will continue to intensify law enforcement, including roadblocks, patrols, and speed limit monitoring.
